So this swim meet we had to today was so hilariously funny, in a way that was not supposed to be funny at all.
So it started out like any other swim meet, to find myself in the 100 this time. 50 more than I ever have been in before. So I was kind of silently freaking out about that. On our way to Gardner in a very squished seat with Mikayla and Alexis and I all on one seat.
When we got there we did our warm up thing and I saw the girl like usual that I have seen since 4th grade. This girl named Abby. Ever since we were like 8 she has beat me in like EVERYTHING. Like Chess, mostly, and now swimming. She was there last year but it didn't really make that big of a deal because she wasn't in practically all of the things I do. Only this particular meet, she was.
IN EVERYTHING. We were in the same lanes next to eachother for everything, only not in the 25 breastroke, she was right in the heat after me.
But on the very first thing we did, which was the 100 2 man relay. She was right next to me, and I saw her, an I was like, this is my chance to finally say I beat her in something, so I kicked it into gear, and I just lost, by like a foot. And I don't know why, but I found this so hilarious, so hilariously funny, that I was laughing before I got out of the pool. and I was laughing and laughing and laughing, so loud and so hysterical that it just made it funnier. And Alexis was like, good job and all that, but I wasn't listening. I was just laughing, and laughing, because since I was 8 years old, I had been losing to that Abby girl, and I even missed my chance to dominate her. I found that funny. So everyone was staring and I just laughed my way back to my seat while Alexis was laughing because it was contagious and was asking me what was so funny. And then I explained the whole situation when Maddie came over. She explained to Alexis that she needed to take off her bracelet because it wasn't allowed. It was an anklet that she had had on since the beginning of the summer, and she refused to. She would not take it off, even when she was threatened to be disqualified. So Maddie told Alexis's mom. And when she confronted her about telling her mom, Maddie admitted it. This was the conversation.
A: YOU TOLD MY MOM??
M: Yep, I told your mom.
A: You bleep! You need to go find yourself a life hanging with all these middle school kids.
Then Mikayla's mouth dropped open and she dropped her goggles on the floor in disbelief. (It was actually quite comical.)
M: You are the worst captain this team has ever seen.
And by then I had got up and moved away, I didn't want to be part of the confrontation. And Mikayla jumped up and yelled at them putting the arms inbetween M and A, and said "Lets not make a scene!"
And then after that word got around to A's mom, and she was mad, she was about to ground Alexis off when she didn't take the thing off her ankle, (which eventually got it cut off. ) and then she found out that she was swearing, and now she's in big trouble.
It was just so funny, and we would NOT let Alexis hear the end of it. It was that funny.
But anyway we won the meet by a landslide. And then I confronted that Abby chick and told her that ever since like 4th grade she had beat me in everything and she looked at me, and like didn't know what to say. Because it isn't everyday that you get someone all frustrated looking coming up to you and saying something like that, it was just hilarious.
I still can't get over that I was hysterically laughing after I got out of the pool.
