It was beautiful, ok. I will never forget that night, it was - the word I keep using - glorious. Haha. It was the best thing, I have ever been part of. My friends are probably so tired of hearing me talk about swimming, but I'm tired of hearing them talk about band and stuff, so I forgive myself. Haha.
Last night was the only swim meet that Brian and Nate thought we could win. We're a good team, but other teams are just better. That's what I'm saying. He said he was 80% we could win. We were so excited because we wanted it so bad. We came in and we got ready and it started off and we were cheering, he said that tonight was the night to fight through the pain. To just try as hard as you could, give it 110%, all that. We even had a pep talk in the locker room like people at football games.
And I had 4 events.
All of them back to back.
I swear to god if coach does that to me ever again, I will shoot him. Not really, but I will be really mad, and do horrible. I had the 100 Freestyle, 200 Freelay (Freestyle Relay), 100 Backstroke, and 400 Freelay. Our relays got disqualified for false starting. Dumb ref. I swear. But in my 100 Freestyle I used to have 1:26, and now I have 1:18. That is 8 seconds, dude, EIGHT. I felt proud, then the relays I didn't the individual time on that, and then my backstroke, I used to have 1:44, but not I have 1:39. Five seconds on that one. I felt so good, and in my 100 I even beat a girl, by half the length of the pool. That has never happened to me, my dad and my mom's best friend, and her friend were there. So people were watching and actually saw it. :) And apparently "I should have seen Brian's face when he saw me in that 100." according to Sam.
All that, and we lost.
We lost 66 to 86, because all of our relays got DQed, like I said. And our Freelays are the best events we have, we have amazing relays. And they all got DQed except for one.
We were all so dissapointed, because we all wanted to win so bad, we haven't won yet. So a lot of us cried, and Nate and Brian, said that they "were SO proud of us." That is amazing to us, to people that don't really give out compliments, that was incredible. They said we could push them in the pool if we won, and since we didn't he made us cool down and come back out. And then he announced that the swimmer of the meet from Tuesday was Cassandra, and she cried. Then they announced the swimmer of the meet for that meet was...... all of us. We all cheered and didn't even realize that they were slowly taking stuff out of their pockets and taking off their shoes, but when we did, we grabbed them by the arms and shoved them in the pool, because that was their rules, to push them in the pool they had to take everything out of their pockets and shoes were off. Then they raced, and messed around for a long time, and we celebrated even though we lost. Lastly we got food, soup this time, and we all talked to each other, and congratulated everyone, because everyone had really good time drops, that's how much we wanted it.
We still have Waverly though.
