Marching Bands and Liquid Nitrogen

This has probably been the WEIRDEST i've ever been through, but before I go into an in depth account, hear's a count down of the strangest/awsome/traumatic things of this week:

5.  I'm sad because I had to miss German today and it was special Halloween theme.
4.  I missed German because the band led a parade for the kids in the Elementary school next door.
3.  I watched a pop bottle explode.  Not a wimpy mentos explosion, a full blown ka- BOOM of smoke and pieces of bottle.
2.  I got tackled by Delaney!
1.  I almost got hit in the head by a beaker full of liquid nitrogen.

So on Tuesday, as you already know, I saw Delaney at Pattingale.  It's like one minute i'm walking towards the library and the next minute I see a blur and am struggling for breath.  Delaney is one strong hugger.

Today we had science in the auditorium because the science teachers were doing demonstrations with liquid nitrogen.  We got to see stuff like rubber balls shattering, banna hammers, and steam coming out of our teacher's noses, but the best was seeing a pop bottle explode.  When liquid nitrogen hits air, it turns into a gas and expands.  So when you pour it into a bottle and close the lid... BOOOOOOOOOOOOM!  It was so cool! The pieces of bottle went everywhere!  There was this huge puff of smoke and it scared me to death!  Then when we went back into the auditorium (we were outside for the explosion) some kids asked our teacher to do this thing where you throw the nitrogen into the air and it turns to gas, but this time he threw it over our head.  So that wouldn't have been to bad had he not lost his grip on the beaker.  I watched the nitrogen.  It was letting off tons of smoke so it was hard to see but I realized that it was way to big for just a little liquid.  I ducked just in time for it to hit the guy behind me in the leg instead of hitting me in the face.  Awsome.

Then to end the day, the band got to skip 5th and 6th hour to do a parade for the little kids of Sycamore Elementary.  We played music as we marched through the neighborhood with the kids walking behind us in there costumes.  Kind of like what we did at Fairview with a lot more formation marching (which we FAILED at).  It was pretty fun.

So that was my totally insane and awsome week.  Emma.
